As a seller, is a pre-listing inspection important? Although some Realtors are doing this, we actually don’t recommend that you order a pre-listing inspection. Why? The buyer will hire their own home inspector. Some of the items on your inspector’s list may not match up with their inspector’s list. As a result, you might fix things that you believe should be addressed but that the buyer is not concerned with.


There’s really no need to spend money on a pre-listing inspection.


There’s really no need to spend that extra money. If there are obvious things that need to be fixed that you don’t need an inspector to tell you about, then go ahead and take care of them.
